Wet Withens

Peak District, Derbyshire

Wet Withens or as it is more imaginatively know, Eyam Moor I, is a large embanked stone circle.  Consisting of ten standing stones, most of the stones now lean at quite an angle, but it is believed that the circle originally consisted of 16 stones.  To the north of the circle lies a large cairn.

Directions

The circle is located on the open moors.  To find the site follow the valley of Bretton Clough across the moor and the circle is on a shelf of ground to one side.
