West Kennett Long Barrow

Southern England

As one of Britains largest chambered long barrows, West Kennet is more than 100 metres long.  The interior chamber of the barrow is approx. 10 metres long and open for the public.  It is believed that the tomb may have been in use for over 1,000 years, and excavations at the site earlier this century found burial remains for all ages.

Directions

Close to the village of Avebury itself, West Kennet is a short walk away from the A4.
