Trippet  Stones

Of the 28 stones thought to have originally stood in this circle, only eight stones remain.  The stones are taller than average for the stone circles in Cornwall, standing between 4ft and 5ft in height.  The name for the  circle - Trippet - originates from the folk lore belief that the stone are petrified bodies of young girls that were punished for dancing on the Sabbath.

To the north east of the circle, a stone circle called the Stripple Stones can be seen along the horizon.

Directions

Past the Jamaica Inn on the A30 towards St. Breward the circle is visible from the road.  The Stripple Stones are approx. 1km away.
