Stone Circle
Of
the original 65 stones of this stone circle, only 34 stones remain with 25 of
them still standing. The
tallest stone at approx. eight ft in height is set radially to the north west of
the circle. It is
believed that this stone was set in an astronomical alignment as from the centre
of the circle the stone is in alignment with the northerly moonrise.
The stones in the circle are set at uneven intervals.
A massive slab, six ft in length and five ft wide lies prostrate at the
south, south west of the circle.
The rugged moor lands make an excellent backdrop to the circle, with its
appearance made even more dramatic by the two cart tracks that run right through
the circle.

From Batworthy Corner it's a short walk over Clapper Bridge that crosses the North Teign River.
