Dyffryn
Stone Circle
Mid Wales
Dyffryn
stone circle in the Preseli Mountains is a little known circle that lies quite
near to the well known Gors Fawr, although the two are very different in
appearance. The route to Dyffryn
stone circle is not marked or signposted, neither is there anything at the
actual site to say that this is it. The
circle is made from angular, pillar like needles of stone and have survived in a
reasonable condition. One of the
stones is similar in shape to the "chair shaped" stone at Wet Withens
in Derbyshire. If the stone is in
it's original state or if it has been broken is not known.
The second pair of pillars are pronouncedly spiky in comparison with the
others. There is also a broken
stone, that when it has fallen has broke into three pieces.
Whether this stone is in its natural state or if it has been carved is
not known, but the shape if the stone is that of a zig zag or ribbed shape.
