Castell Dinas Bran

North East Wales

It's name refers to "Bran the Blessed", the hero of a tale in the Mabinogion.  The name means "crow" or "raven" castle.  There are many legends told about this site.  One is that it is the hiding place of the Holy Grail.  Another is that a golden harp is hidden in a cave in the mountain and that it can only be found by a boy who owns a white dog with silver eyes.  Running northwards from Dinas Bran is Craig Arthur (Arthur's Stone), a huge stone ridge.
